Fomema was created with the noble intentions, which is to coordinate health screening of migranmt workers. Of course profit is also of utmost importance. We pay RM180 for a comprehensive health screening that includes X-ray. Went to renew maid's work permitat Immigration Department in Pusat Bandar Damansara, was pleasantly surprised that the Immigration authorities were efficient and had the permit approved fast. But the same cannot be said of Fomema. There was a long queue to get the numbers and a form to fill up. After that you select the clinic to do the screening. Then you wait for your turn to get it processed. And here comes the schock. Fomema does not accept cash, credit card,debit card or a personal cheque. You have to go to a bank and purchase a banker's cheque favouring Fomema to make payment. What is so special about Fomema that they cannot accepts RM180 in cash? It is about security or convenience to Fomema? I mada a loud protest that day at the Fomema office and was asked to fill up a form to make a suggestion. I did fill up the form, gave my contact number and address but till today i have not received any reply from Fomema.
